On 13 February FinTech for Longevity Academy signed an MOU with the Global Initiative of Ageing Foundation (GIA Foundation) to provide a cooperation framework to implement activities in the field of Ageing.
The Global Initiative on Ageing Foundation (GIA Foundation), is a non-profit organization, supported by the United Nations, under the Cooperation Agreement signed with the United Nations Institute for Professional Training and Research “ UNITAR”. The mission of the GIA is to support the goals proposed by the United Nations in the Assembly of the Decade of Healthy Aging, and the Sustainable Development Goals. These initiatives will try to achieve improving the quality of life, participation, and inclusion of the ageing population worldwide through collaboration with national and local governments, international organizations, civil society, education and the private sector.
Due to the shared interests, goals and objectives between the GIA Foundation and F4L Academy regarding the promotion and protection of the rights of the elderly, the ways of cooperation that will be developed under the MOU may include the support for the preparation of a United Nations Convention on the Human Rights of the ageing population, advice to the public and private sector on public measures on ageing, strengthening relevant skills and competencies around the world by offering training, to older people, their families, public officials, and other professionals and carrying out projects whose objectives are to improve the quality of life, participation and inclusion of the elderly.
